MG 1/100 Crossbone Gundam X-1 Ver. Ka Modeled by ED
Very proud to present my first entry for the Gundam Builders World Cup 2014.  This kit has some history behind it.  After being transferred around between a few users on tumblr, it ended up in my hands and sparked a very awesome online friendship between me and my friend, Geremi. Eventually it led to us even meeting up in real life, building together and becoming really close friends. And now this kit has wound up being my first entry in the GBWC, that will be at Comicon 2014 in New York City, where Geremi lives. So I’ll be staying with him and entering the kit that sparked our friendship in the competition.  I wouldn’t even be going to Comicon if it wasn’t for Geremi, and if it wasn’t for this kit.  So this model is really important to me.

I’m sure this won’t win any awards, but I hope that it inspires some to pick up a brush and paint to make their Gunpla shine.  It isn’t crazily modded or a custom, but it’s a neatly done model that’s been shaded and decaled and flat coated and I’m proud of it. At the end of the day, all you can really hope to be is to be proud of what you’ve created. So again, I’m proud to be entering this kit in the GBWC.  I hope to see other builders there as well as your work.

"The Greatest Hobby in the World"

Alright so I might as well spit this out now since Iv’e been thinking about it for months.

So as some of you guys may or may not know, this October marks the first year that Iv’e been really involved with the more serious modeling side of the Gunpla community. Iv’e been doing Gundam stuff, videos, and been in the community for around 6, but the last year is really where I stepped up to the plate with my brushes and started doing some serious work.

Over the past year, I have gone from hand painting small details onto kits and giving them topcoat and occasionally spray painting them, to doing full prep work with seam removal, small mods, full on hand painting with acrylics, to airbrushing with acrylics, and now doing fully shaded paint jobs with enamels. Iv’e learned so much int he past 12 months it’s really hard to believe that Iv’e packed this much into a short amount of time.

As for my YouTube, I havent really been too active on it. Ive been trying to focus on grasping the skills Ive learned and really mastering them before making painting videos. Its also been harder to do reviews due to my living conditions at the moment. Now, as you again may or may not know, in the past Iv’e done certain videos that have really impacted people. The most recent being a few years ago where I talked about ‘My Gundam Story.’ Now after taking this year and really getting a grasp on this hobby I feel like I want to start making videos again. I’m moving at the end of this month to a new, larger apartment where I can work and do videos more freely and it should be really good for me, as well as my Youtube.

Getting to the point, I have a very big video project coming up. It’s going to be a fully edited short video in which I talk about the hobby on a more in depth scale, talking about the process, how it’s an art form and the past year of my life that’s changed so much for me for the better. Itll be me narrating over filmed bits I’m working on currently.

This project is going to be, or at least I hope, really big. I want this video to impact every single person that views it. I want to reach to the hearts of every single person I possibly can. This video will be for people years into the hobby, and people who don’t even know what gunpla is. People new to building and master builders. I want this video to make a statement about Gunpla.

So, I am happy to announce that my small short, “The Greatest Hobby in the World” Will be in the works as of now. I have so many great friends and wonderful role-models in this hobby and I’ll be needing your help for some of the parts of this film, but you’ll hear more about that later. So for now, I’m really really excited to be working on this and I’m really hoping to make a really big impact like my last video like this did, but this time even bigger.

At the end of the day, all you can really hope to be is to be proud of what you’ve created. So again, I’m proud to be entering this kit in the GBWC.  I hope to see other builders there as well as your work.
